1. Corrosion resistance of polyethylene pipe
Polyethylene is an inert material, which can resist the erosion of various chemical media. No electrochemical corrosion and anti-corrosion coating.
2. No leakage characteristic of PE pipe
Polyethylene pipes are mainly connected by melting (hot-melt connection or electrofusion connection), which essentially ensures the consistency of interface materials, structures and pipes, and realizes the integration of joints and pipes. The test results show that the tensile strength and bursting strength of the joint are higher than those of the pipe body, and there is no leakage problem compared with rubber joints or other mechanical joints.
3. High toughness of PE pipe
Polyethylene pipe is a kind of high toughness pipe, its elongation at break is generally more than 500%, and it has strong adaptability to uneven settlement of pipe base. Polyethylene gas and water pipes survived the Kobe earthquake in 1995. Therefore, after the earthquake in Japan, the application of PE pipes in the field of natural gas was vigorously promoted.
4. PE pipe has excellent flexibility
The flexibility of polyethylene enables polyethylene pipes to be wound and supplied in a longer length without the need for various connection fittings. During trenchless construction, the direction of polyethylene pipe can be easily changed according to the requirements of construction methods, and the original size and size can be restored after construction.
5. How to recognize the characteristics of PE pipes with good scratch resistance
Scratches lead to material stress concentration, resulting in pipeline damage. When using trenchless technology, it is difficult to avoid scratches whether laying new pipes or replacing old pipes. In recent years, research has proved that PE80 grade polyethylene pipe has good resistance to slow crack growth and scratch resistance, and PE100 grade polyethylene pipe has good scratch resistance. Therefore, polyethylene pipes are widely used in trenchless construction.
6. PE pipe has good resistance to rapid crack growth
It is an accidental pipe break. The crack expands rapidly at a certain speed, causing the pipeline rupture of tens or even thousands of meters in an instant. The consequences are catastrophic. As early as the 1950s, there were several rapid rupture accidents of natural gas pipelines in the United States. In practice, no rapid cracking phenomenon was found in polyethylene gas pipeline. In recent years, people have done a lot of research on the crack resistance of polyethylene pipes.
